Ellada
A journey to an ancient land to discover a love written in the stars, Ellada is Pierce Murphy’s neo-soul epic set in beautiful Greece. A direct sequel to the 2017 record To Japan, this album was written on location in various cities and islands of Greece, capturing the essence of stoic Crete, stunning Santorini, and sprawling Athens. This concept album furthers the real life story of a love that, while lost in Tokyo, came to life on the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean.
With lo-fi beats, dreamy synthesizers, grandiose chorale arrangements, and Pierce’s trademark jazz-blues guitar and bass swagger, Ellada is designed to transport the listener to a place surrounded in mythic beauty. This concentrated reverence has resulted in Pierce’s most ambitious and passionate album to date.
